Prof. Weixing Li

Chair of the IEEE PES Northeast Chapter, China

Weixing Li, Ph.D., Professor, and Doctoral Advisor, is the Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering at Dalian University of Technology. He is a Leading Talent in Scientific and Technological Innovation of Liaoning Province. He serves as Chair of the IEEE PES Renewable Energy Modeling Satellite Subcommittee and expert member of the IEC SC8A New Energy Modeling Working Group. Additionally, he is the Vice Chairman of the Power System Simulation Committee of the China Society for Simulation, Chair of the IEEE PES Northeast Chapter, Vice President of the Liaoning Electrical Engineering Society, Deputy Leader of the Large Power Grid Intelligent Analysis and Control Group of the China Artificial Intelligence Society, and member of the Energy Internet Committee of the China Electrical Engineering Society. He also serves as an editorial board member for SCI/EI journals such as IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications. Dr. Li has led 12 national-level projects, including key programs funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the National Key R&D Program. He has published over 100 SCI/EI indexed papers and holds nearly 30 authorized national invention patents. His honors include the First Prize of Technical Innovation from the China Energy Research Society, the Second Prize of Scientific and Technological Progress from China Electric Power, the IEEE PES Outstanding Contribution Award in China, and the IEEE Best Conference Paper Award.

Assoc. Prof. Bowen Zhou

Northeastern University, China

Bowen Zhou, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Communist Party Member. He was admitted to the School of Electrical Engineering at Wuhan University in September 2006, majoring in Electrical Engineering and Automation, and graduated with a bachelor's degree in June 2010. In September 2010, he was recommended through an interview to pursue a master's degree in Power Systems and Automation at the same school and graduated in June 2012. In February 2012, he was nationally sponsored to study for a Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Queen’s University Belfast, UK. He obtained his doctoral degree in July 2016 and then joined the Department of Electrical Engineering, School of Information Science and Engineering, Northeastern University. He previously served as Assistant to the Dean of the School of Information Science and Engineering and was appointed Associate Dean of the School of Future Technology in January 2021. His main areas of teaching and research include power and energy system operation, electric vehicle and grid interaction, virtual energy storage, demand response, and industrial intelligence. He currently serves as a board member of the IEEE PES Transformer Committee China Chapter, an executive member of the IEEE PES PSOPE Committee’s Subcommittee on Integrated Energy System Operation, Planning and Business Models China Chapter, and a board member of the IEEE PES Electric Vehicle Committee’s Power Battery Subcommittee China Chapter. He has been awarded two first prizes and two third prizes of provincial and ministerial-level Scientific and Technological Progress.
